A Madison County man has filed suit against the contractor that he claims allowed him to be injured by an iron demolition shear.
Christopher Krawczak claims he was working as a subcontractor for defendant Lamar Construction on April 7, 2008, when he sustained severe injuries to his leg and internal organs.
Although Krawczak does not say how he was injured, he does blame Lamar Construction for causing his injury, saying it allowed its employee to operate an iron demolition shear without adequate training. In addition, Lamar allegedly allowed its employee to use an iron demolition shear to move and lift iron and failed to supervise its employee, according to the complaint filed April 19 in Madison County Circuit Court.
In his complaint, Krawczak is seeking a judgment of more than $75,000.
He will be represented by Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-372.
