A St. Clair County man is suing the driver of van he says caused a rollover on the interstate.

Katraelyus Franklin filed the complaint March 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Nicholas Moore.

Franklin says he was a passenger in Moore's vehicle in November 2009 as he drove north on I-55 in West Lincoln Township. Franklin says Moore was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Express van and attempted to exit the freeway at exit ramp 126.

Franklin says Moore lost control of the Express. The van allegedly left the road and rolled once. The passenger says he was injured in the crash, which has cost him medical expenses and time away from work.

Franklin accuses Moore of negligence for failing to avoid the rollover. He is asking to be paid more than $50,000 in damages plus the court costs.

Attorney Lanny Darr of Alton is representing Franklin.
