An Indiana man has filed suit against the restaurant where he claims he was stabbed by an intoxicated man in the bathroom.
Edward Hall claims he was visiting defendant Pepe's Incorporated on March 21, 2009, when he was stabbed multiple times in the bathroom by an intoxicated patron, Leonard Lamount Parker Jr.
Because of the incident, Hall sustained multiple lacerations to his left and right arms, hands and abdomen and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed March 18 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, he endured pain and suffering, lost wages and suffered disability, the suit states.
Pepe's negligently failed to maintain adequate security on its premises, failed to pat down patrons, failed to provide adequate security in its restaurant and failed to stop the stabbing of Hall, the complaint says. It also failed to properly supervise its employees and continued to sell intoxicating drinks to a patron after he was intoxicated, Hall claims.
In his three-count complaint, Hall is seeking a judgment of more than $150,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by Thomas H. Rolwing Jr. of Kayira in St. Louis.
