An Alton father and son are suing the man who crashed into them after he allegedly ran a red light.
Michael S. Kiffmeyer, and on behalf of his minor child, filed a lawsuit against James Sackman March 18 in Madison County Circuit Court.
In March 2009, Kiffmeyer says he was driving with his 9-year-old son west on Illinois Route 140. As they crossed the intersection of St. James Road, Sackman, who was driving north on St. James Road, allegedly failed to stop and crashed into the Kiffmeyer's car.
Kiffmeyer accuses Sackman of negligence and asks for more than $100,000 in damages for medical expenses, lost wages and court costs.
Attorney Allan L. Napp of Alton is representing Kiffmeyer.
