A Dorsey couple is accused of allowing their dogs to attack a man while he mowed a lawn.

Ranson Kessinger filed a lawsuit March 18 in Madison County Circuit Court against David and Janet Tindall.

Kessinger says he was mowing the grass at his parents' house on Snake Road in August 2010. He says the Tindalls' dogs came from across the street and started to attack his dog. When he stepped in to separate the animals, Kessinger says the Tindalls' dogs attacked him and bit him on the arm.

Kessinger accuses the Tindalls of violating Illinois' Animal Control Act. He also contends they were negligent for allowing their dogs to be off-leash, knowing they were vicious.

He is asking for more than $200,000 in damages for medical expenses, loss of income and court fees.

Kessinger is represented by attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton.
