A Madison County man is accused of causing a three-car crash while crossing a bridge in Missouri.
Mario Orduna filed a lawsuit against Edgar Lamzik March 11 in Madison County Circuit Court. Charles R. Pridgen and his employer, Wiley Sanders Truck Lines Inc., are also named as defendants.
According to the complaint, Orduna was driving west on I-64 in July 2010. Orduna says he was driving behind a Chevy Impala being driven by Lamzik across the Poplar Street Bridge in St. Louis. Orduna claims Lamzik unexpectedly stopped his car in front of him. When Orduna allegedly slowed to keep his Nissan Sentra from crashing into the back of Lamzik's car, the driver says he was hit from behind by a truck being driven by Pridgen.
Orduna accuses all three defendants of negligence. He is asking for more than $200,000 in damages to cover the cost of medical expenses, lost wages and court fees.
Attorneys John G. Simon, Rachel L. Roman and Timothy M. Cronin of St. Louis are representing Orduna. They ask for a jury trial.
