A woman is suing a St. Clair County grocery store after she allegedly slipped on a wet floor while shopping.
Michelle Tumey filed the lawsuit against SuperValu Inc. March 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
In the complaint, Tumey says she was shopping in the SuperValu on Camp Jackson Road in September 2010. Tumey claims she slipped in some liquid left on the floor and hurt herself.
Tumey accuses SuperValu of negligence for failing to clean up the liquid and for not warning customers of the danger. She is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical bills, lost wages and court fees.
Attorneys Jon E. Rosenstengel of Belleville and Craig Ortwerth of St. Louis are representing Tumey.
