Rear-end accident in East St. Louis results in injuries, suit says

A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims rear-ended her vehicle, causing her to suffer physical and emotional injuries.

Robin Fenderson-Hall claims she stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Louisiana Boulevard and 29th Street in East St. Louis on March 30, 2009, when defendant James E. Wottowa rear-ended her.

Because of the collision, Fenderson-Hall experienced pain, suffering and disability and sustained injuries to her upper back, neck and head, according to the complaint filed Feb. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, she incurred medical costs, lost income, suffered disability and lost her enjoyment of life, the suit states.

Wottowa negligently drove too fast, failed to use ordinary care, drove without keeping a proper lookout, followed Fenderson-Hall's vehicle too closely and struck the rear of Fenderson-Hall's vehicle, the complaint says.

In her complaint, Fenderson-Hall is seeking a judgment in excess of the jurisdictional limits of St. Clair County Circuit Court, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Fenderson-Hall will be represented by David N. Damick of the Law Offices of David N. Damick.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-76.
