Cahokia pedestrian claims injuries in crosswalk

An O'Fallon man has filed suit against the driver who he claims struck him as he was attempting to cross the street.

Theron D. Hubbard claims he was in the crosswalk at the intersection of Camp Jackson Road and Range Lane in Cahokia when defendant David Johnson struck him on Nov. 26 at about 6:13 p.m.

Because of the incident, Hubbard lost income, incurred medical costs, suffered pain and lost his normal life, according to the complaint filed Feb. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Johnson negligently failed to keep a proper lookout for pedestrians and drove too fast, the suit states.

In his complaint, Hubbard is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

He will be represented by Jon E. Rosenstengel of the Law Offices of Bonifield and Rosenstengel in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 11-L-82.
