Memorial Convalescent Center resident claims broken leg

A former patient of a St. Clair County convalescent center is suing the facility for allegedly breaking his leg.

Henry Dinan filed a lawsuit Jan. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Protestant Memorial Medical Center Inc., doing business as Memorial Convalescent Center, and Memorial Hospital. Memorial Care Center is also named as a defendant.

According to the complaint, Dinan was a patient of Memorial Hospital, Memorial Care Center and Memorial Convalescent Center in February 2009. Dinan says his left femur was broken when employees of the center used unreasonable force while caring for him.

Dinan is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical costs and court fees.

He is represented by attorney Alan G. Pirtle of Belleville.
