A Madison County man is suing the owners of a Godfrey mobile home park after he allegedly broke his ankle while walking through the yard.
David Kraushaar filed the lawsuit against Arc Communities 1 LLC on Dec. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court.
In July 2009, Kraushaar says he was visiting a friend who was renting a space in the mobile home park on West Delmar. While walking outside the home, Kraushaar says, he tripped in a rut in the yard and fractured his ankle. The plaintiff says the rut was caused by the towing of another mobile home and was not clearly visible.
Kraushaar accuses Arc Communities of negligence, saying it should have known the ruts were there and either fixed them or warned of their existence.
Kraushaar is asking for more than $50,000 to pay for medical expenses and court costs. Attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton is representing him.
