Leasing company sues Alton dentist

A leasing company claims an Alton dentist owes more than $56,000 in medical equipment rental fees.

Colonial Pacific Leasing Corporation filed a lawsuit against Dr. Christopher M. Carrow Jan. 14 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Colonial Pacific claims the dentist has failed to pay a lease on his office building and the equipment used there.

Colonial Pacific says Dr. Carrow signed a lease in August 2005 and a second a few months later. The agreement provided the dentist with medical equipment for his practice in exchange for monthly payments of $2,100.

According to the complaint, the Alton dentist stopped paying the monthly rental fees despite owing more than $56,270 on the lease. Colonial Pacific says Dr. Carrow has refused its demands for immediate payment.

The company is asking Dr. Carrow be ordered to pay the remaining $56,270 owed along with court costs and attorney fees.

Attorneys Alex Darcy and Lawrence C. Wechsler of Chicago are representing Colonial Pacific Leasing Corporation.
