Wood River accident is subject of suit

A Madison County woman is asking for more than $100,000 from the driver of a car that allegedly crashed into her and the driver of the car she was riding in.

Lori Tumbleson filed a lawsuit against Paul Tretter and Lloyd Durham Jan. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, in January 2009, Tumbleson was riding in the front seat of a Plymouth Voyager driven by Lloyd Durham. As Durham drove along Vaughn Road in Wood River, Tumbleson says, Tretter turned left in of the vehicle as Vaughn tried to enter a Walmart parking lot.

Tumbleson says Durham crashed into Tretter, causing the passenger to hurt her knee, back and spine.

Tumbleson is suing Tretter for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. She named Durham as a defendant for not avoiding the crash.

Tumbleson is asking for more $100,000 to pay for medical costs, lost wages and court costs.

Attorney Ronald S. Motil of Glen Carbon is representing Tumbleson.
