February status hearing set in Spragues' suit over 2009 accident

LeChien

A status conference is set next month in a personal injury suit filed by Belleville attorney Robert Sprague and his wife, St. Clair County Auditor Patty Sprague.

The Spragues are suing Adriano Silva for injuries the couple suffered when Silva allegedly ran a Belleville stop-light in 2009 and crashed into their car.

Silva alleges that a brake defect and not his actions led to the accident.

The status conference is set Feb. 8 at 9:30 a.m.

Discovery in the case continues with interrogatories recently answered by Silva.

The Spragues seek damages in excess of $50,000 and costs.

Robert Sprague represents himself and his wife.

Martin Clay represents Silva.

St. Clair County Circuit Judge Robert LeChien presides.

The February status conference was set by a Dec. 9 order signed by LeChien.

The case is St. Clair case number 09-L-561.
