Driver claims Bi-State bus caused rear-end crash

A St. Clair County woman is suing a Belleville bus driver she says rear-ended her at a stop light.

Linda Parmeley filed the lawsuit suit against Elbert D. Andrews and Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan District Dec. 2 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Parmeley says she was one of several cars stopped at a red light on Route 159 in Fairview Heights in December 2009. She claims a Metro Bus, driven by Andrews, crashed into the car behind her, causing that vehicle to rear-end Parmeley's car.

The woman accuses the bus driver and his employer of negligence. She is asking for more than $100,000 in damages to compensate for medical expenses and court costs.

Attorney Richard G. Reed of Belleville is representing Parmeley.
