A St. Clair County man is suing his former employer, claiming he was hurt using construction stilts on the job.
Bobby G. Moore and his wife, Dynna, filed a lawsuit against Brinkmann Construction Inc., Negwer Materials Inc. and Dura-Stilt Sales Limited Partnership on Nov. 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Moore says he was working for American Exterior Interior Services and was hired by general contractor Brinkmann Construction in January. Moore says he was using a Dura-Stilt leg extension device when a bolt allegedly broke. Moore says he fell, hurting his back.
Moore accuses Brinkmann Construction of failing to provide a safe work environment, Negwer Materials of providing a defective device and Dura-Stilt Sales Limited Partnership of selling the defective leg extension tool.
Moore's wife is suing for loss of consortium. They are asking for more than $300,000 in lost wages, medical expenses and court costs.
Attorney Joseph A. Bartholomew of Belleville is representing the Moores.
