A woman is suing the driver she says is responsible for a rear-end crash on a highway in Collinsville.
In the complaint filed Dec. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court, Greta Stein accuses Timothy Yarber and Sharon Yarber of negligence.
Stein says the crash happened April 18 as she was driving south on Illinois Route 159. Near the intersection of Country Lane, Stein says Timothy Yarber failed to stop behind her and crashed into the rear of her vehicle.
Sharon Yarber allegedly owns the car Timothy was driving at the time of the crash. Stein contends that Sharon should have known that Timothy was incompetent, inexperienced or reckless and posed a danger to others on the road.
Stein says she injured her neck, back and knees in the crash. She is asking both defendants to pay more than $50,000 to compensate for medical expenses, pain and suffering, disability and lost wages.
Attorneys Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey, of Fairview Heights, is representing Stein.
