A St. Clair County man is suing the two drivers he claims caused a crash on a Cahokia highway.
Matthew White filed the lawsuit Nov. 19 against Lester Black and Judy Matecki in St. Clair County Circuit Court. White says both Black and Matecki are responsible for a chain-reaction crash that caused injuries to his back, neck and shoulders.
White says he was a passenger in a car driving west on Highway 157 on Sept. 16. Near the intersection of Falling Springs Road, White says Black crashed into the back of a vehicle driven by Matecki. The force of the collision allegedly caused Matecki's car to crash into the back of the vehicle in which White was a passenger.
White contends Black and Matecki were negligent for failing avoid the crash. He is asking both to pay at least $50,000 to compensate for medical expenses, disability and lost wages.
Attorneys Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey are representing White.
