A man says his former employer and its insurance carrier failed to pay his medical bills after he was injured at work.
Terry Cooley filed a lawsuit Nov. 15 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Spara Ford-Mercury.
Cooley says he was injured in a work-related accident on Aug. 19, 2005, while working at Spara Ford-Mercury in St. Clair County.
Despite frequent requests for payment, Cooley says the dealership's insurance carrier ACE USA Claims has not paid the bills he incurred while being treated for the injury.
Cooley claims this is in violation of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act regarding outstanding medical bills and fees.
In his complaint, Cooley seeks more than $50,000 plus costs and compensation in the total amount of outstanding medical bills.
Attorney Daniel Juncker will be representing him.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-595.
