Head injuries claimed in Troy accident

A Troy woman is accused of causing a crash on Route 40 that allegedly left another driver with serious head injuries.

Mark Leonard filed a lawsuit against Dawn Robles Nov. 24 in Madison County Circuit Court. Leonard says Robles drove into an intersection and crashed into him, causing him to be thrown around his vehicle and seriously hurt.

The alleged crash happened in December 2008 as Leonard was driving west on Illinois Route 40 near the intersection of Spring Valley Road. He says Robles, who was driving north on Spring Valley, drove into the intersection and collided with his vehicle.

Leonard says the crash caused serious injuries to his head, eye, knee, chest, face, wrist, body and spine. He says he has memory loss and migraine headaches because of the trauma to his head.

Leonard contends Robles' negligence is to blame to his injuries because she was allegedly driving at an excessive speed and failed to slow down or stop to avoid the crash.

Leonard is asking to be compensated more than $50,000 for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of a normal life.

Attorney Lynn A. Fischer of Clayton, Mo. is representing Leonard. They request a jury trial.
