A man is suing the driver, he says, caused a chain-reaction crash in Edwardsville that caused him to be hurt.
Cody T. Ryan filed the complaint against Erin S. Ammendola on Nov. 18 in Madison County Circuit Court.
The alleged crash happened in January 2009 as Ryan was driving east on Governors Parkway near the intersection of Esic Drive. Ryan says Ammendola, who was driving directly behind him, failed to stop along with the other traffic and rear-ended his car.
Ryan says the force of the collision pushed his vehicle into the back of a Kia Spectra stopped in front of him.
Ryan says he was injured in the crash. He is asking for more than $50,000 in damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages.
Attorney William J. Mateyka of Granite City is representing Ryan.
