Man beaten at Ardie & Tiny's sues attacker

A man who says he was beaten in a Collinsville tavern is suing the person, he says, threw the punches.

Brian Wiese says he was at Ardie & Tiny's on Feb. 18 when James Sparks "violently assaulted" him "without provocation." Wiese says Sparks hit him and then knocked him down to the ground.

In a lawsuit filed Nov. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court, Wiese accuses Sparks of negligence and assault. Weise contends the defendant is responsible for severe and permanent injuries to his head, eyes and neck.

Wiese is asking Sparks to pay more than $100,000 for medical expenses, pain and suffering and lost wages.

Attorney Jack A. Strellis of Waterloo is representing Wiese. They demand a jury trial.
