A woman struck by a runaway shopping cart is suing O'Fallon Wal-Mart.
Patricia A. Church does not allege any injuries or damages in her complaint filed Nov. 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, but she seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of the suit.
Church claims she was a customer at the store on Jan. 23 when she was struck by a shopping cart.
Church blames Wal-Mart for allowing the shopping cart to strike her, saying it failed to maintain a proper lookout, carelessly pushed shopping carts and stored shopping carts in a manner conducive to injuries.
James P. Stiehl of Swansea will be representing her.
