A domestic violence expert recognized by the International Association of Police Chiefs and Parade magazine was this year's guest speaker at the Third Judicial Circuit's Family Violence Prevention Council's annual training meeting.
Lt. Mark Wynn spoke to those gathered Nov. 10 at the Edwardsville Moose lodge about the "hidden victims" of domestic violence, according to a press release sent out by council last week.
Topics addressed in Wynn's talk included coordinating a community response to domestic violence, stalking and the impact of the violence on children.
"We are pleased to present a program with a speaker of Lt. Wynn's credentials here in this community," Madison County Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder said in the release.
Crowder co-chairs the council along with Madison County Circuit Judge Richard Tognarelli.
The seminar was open and free to the public.
The training session is the 13th one that the council has held.
