A man says he was injured when another driver collided with him in a Mascoutah intersection.
Steven Laughland filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Paul W. Gain.
Laughland says he was driving his 1993 Ford Mustang LX south on Illinois Route 4 about 5:25 p.m. near the intersection of Hayden Drive in Mascoutah. He claims Gain was driving west on Hayden Drive in his Dodge Ram 2500 when he lost control in the intersection and collided with Laughland's car.
Laughland says Gain was negligent in failing to keep his car under proper control, failing to reduce speed when approaching the intersection and not keeping a proper lookout. He also blames Gain fro not stopping or veering to avoid the collision and not sounding his horn as a warning.
Laughland claims he suffered serious and permanent injuries and loss of enjoyment of life. He says he incurred significant medical costs .
In his complaint, Laughland seeks damages of more than $15,000.
