Case management conference set in Lincoln Town Car fire suit against Ford

Sivia

A case management conference is set next week in a man's suit against Ford Motor Co. stemming from a garage fire he claims was started by a Lincoln Town Car.

Plaintiff Danny Dawson is also asking to amend his first complaint.

Madison County Circuit Judge Andreas Matoesian will oversee the case management conference at 9 a.m. on Nov. 17.

Matoesian is also set to hear the move to amend the complaint on Nov. 14.

Dawson claims that Ford designed and installed defective and flammable parts in a 1997 Lincoln Town Car that belonged to his father.

Dawson claims that he was keeping the car in his garage in December 2007 when the car caught fire, destroying his garage and all its contents.

The suit seeks damages in excess of $100,000, pre-judgment interest, punitive damages and other relief.

Ford has tried unsuccessfully to have the suit dismissed.

Todd Sivia represents Dawson.

Michael Borree represents Ford.

The case is Madison case number 09-L-1305.
