A bicyclist claims he suffered severe injury and pain when a driver struck him.
Sydney T. Mulder filed a lawsuit Oct. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Allyssa J. Blasdel.
Mulder claims he rode his bicycle north on Greenmount Road toward oncoming traffic in Shiloh on June 14 when Blasdel, who drove south after exiting the McDonald's parking lot, struck him.
Because of the accident, Mulder lost his enjoyment of life and experienced pain and disability, according to the complaint.
Mulder blames Blasdel for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to control her vehicle, failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to yield to bicyclists.
In his complaint, Mulder seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
Jarrod P. Beasley of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing him.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-537.
