A man is seeking damage after being injured in a rear-end collision in Granite City.
Ryan Hall filed a lawsuit on Oct. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court against Deborah Bailey.
Hall claims he was driving eastbound around 5:12 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2009, on Johnson Road near where it intersects with Edgewood Road in Granite City. He says Bailey was following closely behind in her vehicle when she collided into the rear of his car.
Hall's complaint says Bailey was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, driving in a manner that caused her car to collide into the rear of his vehicle and not applying her brakes properly. Hall further claims Bailey used excessive speed for conditions, drove with inadequate brakes and followed too closely behind him.
Hall says he suffered injuries to his neck and back and incurred medical costs and disability. He claims pain and suffering and lost wages.
In his complaint, Hall seeks damages of more than $50,000 plus costs.
Attorney John H. Hustava is representing him.
