Candidates in 112th House race take in nearly $400k since July

Dwight Kay of Glen Carbon, a Republican campaigning to unseat incumbent State Rep. Jay Hoffman, a Democrat from Collinsville, received a total of $150,217.88 between July 1 and Oct. 3, according to a pre-election report filed on Monday.

Of that total, Kay's campaign received $56,737.88 of in-kind contributions in the form of staffing, polling and mailing costs from the Illinois Republican Party and the House Republican Organization.

He had $49,310.53 available at the beginning of the reporting period.

On the other hand, Hoffman, who has held the 112th House District seat since 1991, raised a total of $246,230.69, including in-kind contributions. Hoffman had $449,964.68 available at the beginning of the reporting period.
