A man claims he was injured when he collided with a woman at a New Athens intersection.

Troy Cochenour filed a lawsuit on Oct. 4 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Mary Lou Taylor.

Cochenour claims Taylor was traveling East on Spotsylvania Street at the intersection of South Benton in New Athens on Aug. 29 when she failed to yield and turned left into traffic. Cochenours says Taylor collided with his vehicle.

He says she was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to keep her car under control, not reducing her speed and turning left into oncoming traffic.

Cochenour says he suffered severe and disabling injuries to his entire body. He claims large expenses for hospital and medical care.

In his complaint, Cochenour seeks damages of more than $50,000 plus costs.
