Excavation company and employee accused of causing crash

A St. Clair County man is suing an excavation company after one of its drivers allegedly ran a red light and crashed into him.

Thomas Keen filed a lawsuit against Hank's Excavating & Landscaping Inc. and Ryan Beck Sept. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

In the complaint, Keen contends he was driving his truck east through the intersection of Greenmount Road and an I-64 exit ramp in Sept. 2008 when he was hit. Beck allegedly drove his work truck through a red light at the intersection and crashed into Keen.

Keen says the crash caused serious injuries to his neck and back. He is asking for more than $50,000 to cover the cost of his medical bills, lost wages and court fees.

Attorney Ralph J. Derango Jr., of Belleville, is representing Keen.
