A woman is suing Wal-Mart and a store manager for $150,000 after allegedly falling in the parking lot.
Wendy Cervellone filed the lawsuit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., THF Glen Carbon Development LLC and a store manager, Skip Sponeman, Sept. 24 in Madison County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, Cervellone was walking in the parking lot of the Glen Carbon Wal-Mart in October 2009 when she stepped in a hole and fell. She says she hurt her knee, wrist and other parts of her body. Cervellone contends the store and its manager failed to properly maintain a safe parking area or warn its customers of the dangerous conditions.
Cervellone is asking for $150,000 plus interest to compensate for her injuries, medical bills, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Michael P. Glisson of Alton.
