Ironworker blames faulty crane for injuries suffered on I-64

A Missouri ironworker is suing an equipment leasing company for allegedly providing a faulty crane.

Bryan Brown filed the complaint against Taylor Excavating Company Inc. on Sept. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Brown says that in August he was working for a construction company that was building a pedestrian walkway near I-64 in East St. Louis. While on the job, Brown claims his left leg was injured by a crane leased from Taylor Excavating. He says he was injured because the defendant failed to provide a properly-functioning crane, failed to maintain and control the heavy equipment and failed to provide a crane operator or train someone on-site how to use it.

Brown accuses Taylor Excavating Company of negligence and is asking for $50,000 to cover the cost of medical expenses, lost wages and attorney fees.

Attorney Grey Chatham of Belleville is representing Brown.
