A Madison County woman claims she lost the ability to attend to her usual duties and affairs after a driver struck her vehicle.
Tonia S. Asher filed a lawsuit Sept. 22 in Madison County Circuit Court against Joseph D. Andrews.
Asher claims she drove west on Lindenthal in Highland on Nov. 3, 2008, at about 1:59 p.m. when Andrews, who drove south on Cypress, struck her vehicle, pushing it into a tree.
Because of the collision, Asher incurred medical costs and lost large sums of money that had accrued to her, according to the complaint.
Asher blames Andrews for causing the collision, saying he failed to reduce his speed, failed to keep his vehicle under control, failed to stop at a stop sign and failed to keep a proper lookout.
In her complaint, Asher seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Bob L. Perica of The Perica Law Firm in Wood River will be representing her.
