Driver sued over neck injuries caused by rear-end crash

A Madison County woman is suing the driver she says rear-ended her while driving in Missouri in 2008.

Pamela Watson filed the negligence claim against John Underwood Sept. 17 in Madison County Circuit Court.

The alleged crash happened in January 2008. Watson says she was stopped on Riverlands Way in St. Charles County, Mo. when Underwood hit her vehicle from behind. Watson says the collision caused her to hurt her neck.

Watson accuses Underwood of failing to drive at a reasonable speed and failing to stop in order to avoid hitting Watson's car. She is asking to be compensated more than $50,000 for physical pain and mental anguish, medical expenses and court costs.

Attorney J. Robert Edmonds of Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds & Snider PC in Alton is representing Watson. Watson demands a jury trial.
