A woman claims she was permanently injured when struck by a driver who entered Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights while failing to yield.
Hannah Marshall and her husband John Marshall filed a lawsuit Sept. 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Candace Christ.
Hannah Marshall was a passenger in a car driven by her husband John Marshall March 6, 2009, that was approaching an intersection traveling east on Lincoln Trail when their car was struck by a vehicle driven by Christ that had entered the highway from a private road heading in North.
The complaint says Christ failed to yield the right of way, and failed to see and stop her vehicle, resulting in the collision.
Hannah Marshall says she suffered severe injuries and incurred medical expenses because of the collision. John Marshall claims loss of spousal services because of his wife's permanent injuries.
Both plaintiffs ask for a judgment of $50,000, plus costs.
Justin B. Mattea of the Mattea Law Firm will be representing the Marshalls.
