Woman seeks damages for Fairview Heights crash

A woman claims she was injured when her car was struck by another vehicle near the intersection of West State Rout 161 and Old Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights.

Christina L. Mitchell-Moore filed a lawsuit Sept. 10 against Anita L. Jackson.

Mitchell-Moore alleges she was struck Sept. 14, 2008, while driving her Chevrolet S-10 Truck northbound near the intersection of Route 161 and Old Lincoln Trail. She claims her truck was struck by a 2005 Chrysler 300 driven west by Jackson that lost control and collided with her truck.

The suit alleges Jackson failed to stop and operated a vehicle with unsafe or inadequate brakes. The complaint also says the defendant failed to yield the right of way to Mitchell-Moore's vehicle and to properly observe a traffic signal.

Mitchell-Moore says she sustained permanent internal and external injuries and suffered severe mental anguish. She also claims she incurred medical expenses that has placed her in debt. She claims lost wages and lost future earnings.

In her complaint Mitchell-Moore seeks a judgment of more than 50,000, plus costs.
