A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims caused a collision when the driver attempted to turn left in front of traffic.
Connie S. Clark claims she was driving near the intersection of Illinois Highway 159 and Kadlec Drive on July 9 when defendant Herbert C. Berry made a left turn without first signaling his intent to do so, causing a collision.
Because of the accident, Clark was hindered from attending to her usual duties, suffered great pain and anguish, incurred medical costs and suffered substantial property damage to her vehicle, according to the complaint filed Aug. 31 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Berry negligently drove too fast, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, approached the intersection too fast and attempted to turn left without first giving a proper signal, the suit states.
In her complaint, Clark is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
Melroy B. Hutnick of Belleville will be representing her.
