A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the owner of an Alorton property where she claims she fell through the floor.
Latia Fox claims she was visiting property owned by defendant Callie Mobley at 4103 Walnut in Alorton on May 24 when she fell through the floor as she attempted to leave.
According to the complaint filed Aug. 30 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Fox suffered severe injury and pain and lost her enjoyment of life because of the fall.
Mobley negligently failed to provide a safe entrance and exit from her premises, failed to use signs to warn of the hazardous condition and failed to exercise reasonable care in the maintenance of her premises, the suit states.
In her complaint, Fox is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by Jarrod P. Beasley of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville.
