A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck another vehicle that then slammed into her vehicle.
Aprildawn D. Harrison claims she was driving east in the north lane of East Broadway Street in Alton on Aug. 12, 2009, when defendant Katherine L. Ridolfi, who drove in the same direction, struck Mallorie K. Vest's vehicle, causing Vest to collide with Harrison.
Because of the accident, Harrison was injured, experienced disability and disfigurement, suffered great pain and mental anguish and lost earnings, according to the complaint filed Aug. 19 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Ridolfi negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in such a manner as to strike Vest's vehicle, failed to properly apply her brakes, failed to reduce her speed and drove inattentively, the suit states.
In her complaint, Harrison is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
She will be represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt and Tobin in East Alton.
