A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims struck his motorcycle.
Collin S. Obertz claims he was driving a 2003 Kawasaki Zx636 west on Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on May 1 when defendant Gary D. Robinson, who was driving a 2008 Ford Edge in the same direction, attempted to turn onto Morningstar Drive and struck Obertz's vehicle, which was in the lane to Robinson's right.
Because of the accident, Obertz sustained temporary and permanent injuries, incurred medical costs and has been prevented from attending to his usual duties, according to the complaint filed Aug. 9 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Robinson negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, turned across Obertz's lane of travel and failed to signal his intention to switch lanes, the suit states.
In his complaint, Obertz is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
He will be represented by Lanny Darr of Schrempf, Kelly, Napp and Darr in Alton.
