A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her vehicle after failing to yield at a stop sign, then fled the scene of the accident.
Audrey E. Nolte claims she was driving north on Troy O'Fallon Road in Jarvis on Feb. 12, 2009, when defendant Angel Scribner, who was driving west on Lebanon Road, ran through a stop sign, striking Nolte's vehicle in the right rear panel, then fled the scene.
Because of the collision, Nolte sustained serious injuries to her body that are permanent and disabling, suffered severe and intense pain and lost earnings, according to the complaint filed Aug. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court. In addition, Nolte incurred medical costs and lost her ability to enjoy life, the suit states.
Scribner negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maneuver her vehicle to avoid a collision and collided with Nolte's vehicle, the complaint says.
In her suit, Nolte is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
She will be represented by The Law Offices of Staci M. Yandle in O'Fallon.
