After being forced to miss work and lose wages due to a collision, an Edwardsville woman filed suit against the driver who she claims caused the accident.
Evette Osuegbu filed a lawsuit Aug. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court against Juriwala Vibhutiben.
Osuegbu claims she drove north on Highway 159 at Eastport in Collinsville on Feb. 19 when Vibhutiben, who drove a 2007 Honda Odyssey on the same road, rear-ended Osuegbu's vehicle.
In addition to her lost wages, Osuegbu sustained numerous injuries, incurred medical costs and experienced pain and suffering, according to the complaint.
Osuegbu blames Vibhutiben for causing the collision, saying he negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to ensure that his brakes worked and drove too fast.
In her complaint, Osuegbu seeks a judgment not to exceed $50,000.
Alexander M. Wilson of Granite City will be representing her.
