A woman has filed suit against the owners of an Alton McDonald's, alleging she banged her head on the side of a table after falling on a slippery floor.
Marsha Payne claims she visited the McDonald's located at 2400 Homer Adams Parkway in Alton on Aug. 2, 2008, when the incident occurred.
"The plaintiff slipped on the wet floor and fell against a table top, striking plaintiff's right cheek on the edge of the table and then bouncing to the floor striking plaintiff's head and ear, all of which caused serious injury and damages to the plaintiff," the suit filed July 29 in Madison County Circuit Court states.
Payne blames McDonald's owner Bold Enterprise for causing her fall, saying its employees negligently failed to keep the floor of the McDonald's dry and safe for customers, failed to notify customers of the wet floor and failed to exercise ordinary care in supervising the premises.
In her complaint, Payne is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
G. Edward Moorman of Alton will be representing her.
