A woman claims she sustained great physical pain after a driver collided with her vehicle.
Winnie P. Davis filed a lawsuit July 29 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Stephen M. Mehrtens and Joseph K. Burrow.
Davis claims she drove a 2005 Nissan Murano on Illinois Route 157 at its intersection with Lorraine on Sept. 6, 2008, at about noon when Mehrtens, who drove a 1995 Ford Escort on the same road, collided with her.
In addition to her great physical pain, Davis became hindered and prevented from attending to her usual duties and incurred substantial medical costs, according to the complaint.
She blames Mehrtens for causing the collision, saying he failed to keep the automobile under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast and failed to apply his brakes to avoid a collision, the suit states.
At the time of the collision, the Ford Mehrtens drove belonged to Burrow, the complaint says.
In her two-count complaint, Davis seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
