Rear-end accident on Green Mount is subject of suit

A man has filed suit against the driver who he claims rear-ended his vehicle, causing him to sustain injuries to his neck, shoulder and low back.

William Klug claims he was driving south on Green Mount Road at its intersection with Lebanon Avenue in Shiloh on May 21 when defendant Kristy Yarcho, who was driving in the same direction, struck the rear of his vehicle.

Because of the accident, Klug was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; incurred medical costs; suffered disability; experienced pain and suffering; and lost wages, according to the complaint filed July 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Yarcho negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, struck the rear of Klug's vehicle, failed to properly her brakes, drove too fast and followed Klug's vehicle too closely, the suit states.

In his complaint, Klug is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

Thomas C. Rich and Kristina D. Cooksey of Fairview Heights will be representing him.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-354.
