A Clinton County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her vehicle while the driver attempted to turn left.
Jamie L. Betzinger claims she was driving west on Golf Course Road in St. Clair County on March 31 when she encountered a stop sign.
"Plaintiff was stopped at a stop sign when she was struck in the front by defendant Karen F. Becker, who was making a left hand turn onto Golf Course Road," the suit filed July 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court states.
Because of the collision, Betzinger suffered severe injury and pain, lost wages, lost her enjoyment for life and experienced suffering and disability, according to the complaint.
Becker negligently failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to exercise reasonable care and failed to drive in her own lane, the complaint says.
In her complaint, Becker is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
Jarrod P. Beasley of The Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville will be representing her.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-338.
