A steel erection company claims a St. Louis man owes them more than $50,000 for work it performed for him.
Rockbranch Ironworks filed a lawsuit July 8 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against John P. McLain.
Rockbranch claims it entered into a contract with McLain to erect the Nucor Building for the Progressive Recovery project in Dupo.
According to the complaint, Rockbranch should have been paid $130,700 for its work. However, McLain still owes it $50,760, the suit states.
Although Rockbranch has demanded payment, McLain has refused to compensate it for its work, the complaint says.
In addition to the money it says McLain owes it, Rockbranch seeks other relief the court deem just.
Terry I. Bruckert of Belsheim and Bruckert in O'Fallon will be representing it.
