Legal misrepresentation case set for case management

Matoesian

A legal malpractice case against a St. Louis-based law firm is set for case management Wednesday.

The suit's May 3 trial was pushed off at the request of plaintiff Ronald Dahl Jr.

Dahl is suing attorney Christopher Kuehnlein and the law firm of Kuehnlein and Kuehnlein for allegedly botching a worker's compensation case against Dahl's former employer.

The plaintiff claims that the defendants failed to combine two related worker's compensation cases before advising him to settle the older case.

That claim, against Sears, resulted in a settlement of about $3,000.

Dahl argues that because of his attorney's negligent handling of the case and advice, he lost out on additional settlement monies.

He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and costs.

The defendants deny the claims.

The case management conference is set for 9 a.m.

Dahl Jr. is represented by Michael Brunton.

Kuehnlein and the law firm are represented by Robert Wuller.

Madison County Circuit Judge Andreas Matoesian presides.

The case is Madison case number 08-L-374.>
