Driscoll
A man has filed suit against the driver who he says struck his vehicle as the driver attempted to make a left-hand turn.
John J. Driscoll Sr. claims he was driving north on Illinois Highway Route 159 in Swansea on Aug. 15, 2008, when defendant Wendy J. Martin, attempted to make a left turn, causing her vehicle to collide with his.
Because of the accident, Driscoll sustained serious damages, including bodily injury, aggravation, pain and suffering and loss of enjoyment of life, according to the complaint filed June 30 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. In addition, he incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
Martin negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, drove too fast, failed to drive in a safe manner and failed to avoid a collision, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Driscoll is seeking compensatory damages of more than $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
John J. Driscoll of St. Louis, an attorney who has filed numerous product liability cases in Madison and St. Clair counties, will be representing him.
